Registration Details

• $75 per category
• Registration must be completed online or at the PureO booth (#501)

Eligibility:

• Model must have a full head of freshly washed natural locs
• Must use Loc & Twist Gel only
• Accessories allowed: beads, pins, bands, wraps
• No pre-parting, pre-twisting, or partial styling allowed
• Models must meet eligibility requirements ignorer to serve as a model
• Hair must be at least shoulder length
• Hair must be clean, dry and product free
• Must have a full head of natural locs

• No product mixing
• No substitutions

– Honor loc culture with respect and accuracy
– Protect the technical integrity of the craft
– Establish a global professional benchmark
– Crown teams or individual locticians who demonstrate authority under pressure

Round Structure

ROUND 1 — Retwist DISCIPLINE
• 30 Minutes (30 points)
• Purpose: Honor the foundation of loc culture.
• Challenge Focus:
– Clean retwist execution
– Clear, intentional parting
– Scalp respect
•  No styling permitted
•  No covering errors
• This round answers one question:
– Clean precise execution of retwist
– And did you finish the retwist

ROUND 2 — STYLE AUTHORITY
• 30 Minutes (30 point)
• Purpose: Translate retwist into structured design.
• Challenge Focus:
– Logical loc styling. Give us your best Cleopatra! Let your imagination run wild.
– Wearable, balanced execution
– Intentional structure

ROUND 3 — THE DOMINION FINAL
• 30 Minutes (40 points)
• Purpose: Establish authority.
• Final challenge: start over.
• Give us your masterpiece. What separates you and your team as the Dominion Champions.
• Extension is allowed and Enhancements is allowed.
• Get even more creative for this final round. Wow the crowd.

Judging Criteria

ROUND 1 — Retwist DISCIPLINE (30 points)
• Clean: 5 points
• Completion: 15 points
• Proper retwist: 5 points
• Symmetry: 5 points

ROUND 2 — STYLE AUTHORITY (30 point)
• Complete style: 15 points
• Creative: 10 points
• Accessories: 5 points

ROUND 3 — THE DOMINION FINAL (40 points)
• Creativity: 20 points
• Completion in time frame: 10 points
• Overall Presentation/Delivery: 10 points

Artist Conduct
• At any time, only ONE artist may work on the model.
• If you are a team your team members stand to the side no helping and no assistance.

Cultural Foundation
• Locs are not trends.
• They are identity, patience, and discipline.
• Dominion was designed around three non-negotiable cultural principles:
– Respect for the Scalp – Health and care always come before appearance.
– Respect for Time – True loc mastery cannot be rushed even under pressure.
– Respect for Mastery – Not everyone qualifies for this level.
• Every rule within Dominion exists to protect these values.

Logistics & Participation Rules
• 60 minutes total. 1–3 individual or teams of up to three (teams is recomended)
• Model Requirement: Model must provide your own model. Model must have a full head of locs (minimum shoulder length temp or taper no more than 1 1/2 to 2 in on sides before the ear and back tapeline only is allowed). Model must have traditional size locks (no small locs or large locs model should have at least 50 to 60 locks no less)
• Allowed Products: Any products from the PureO Natural Products line such as Loc and Twist Gel, Loc and Twist Butter, Loc and Braid Mousse, etc. (no other brand of products). Products will be provided on site.
• Tools: Competitors may bring their own clips, combs, dryers, and accessories (pins, wraps, beads, bands).
• Pre-Work: Models must arrive with freshly washed, natural locs. Hair should be clean and free of dandruff and product. No pre-parting, pre-twisting, or partially styled work allowed. If you need a cleanup and you still have time on the clock you’re welcome to have them clean up the access but not to exceed your allotted time.
